1. Who We Are

MedsWay is a personal health management app built and operated by MedsWay, based in Ontario, Canada. We help you track medications, appointments, lab results, health notes, and more — all in one place.

2. What Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

  • Your name and email address when you create an account

  • Health data you enter: medications, supplements, appointments, lab results, health journal entries, emergency profile details, vaccination records

  • Pet profile information (name, species, medications, vet appointments) if you create a pet profile

  • Information you share through Hive (Care Circle), including messages and shared health summaries

  • Any photos or documents you upload (e.g. lab results, vaccination records)


Information Collected Automatically

  • Basic app usage data (e.g. which features you use, crash reports)

  • Device type and operating system (for technical support purposes)

  • Authentication data managed securely through Firebase (Google)


What We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your precise location

  • We do not collect payment card details (handled entirely by Apple or Google)

  • We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone without your explicit permission


3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide and improve MedsWay. Specifically:

  • To power the features you use (medication tracking, reminders, Hive sharing, AI insights, health reports)

  • To send you in-app notifications and wellness check reminders you have enabled

  • To provide AI-generated health insights and medication interaction checks (powered by a third-party AI provider)

  • To allow Hive members you have invited to view health information you have explicitly chosen to share

  • To respond to your support requests

  • To improve app stability and fix bugs


We do not use your health data for advertising. We do not sell, trade, or share your personal health data. Ever.


4. Hive (Care Circle) — Sharing With Others

Hive allows you to invite trusted people (family, caregivers, friends) to view parts of your health profile. Here is what you need to know:

  • You control exactly what information each Hive member can see

  • Hive members can only view information you have explicitly shared with them

  • You can remove a Hive member and revoke their access at any time

  • Information shared through Hive is your responsibility — only invite people you trust

  • MedsWay is not responsible for how Hive members use information you choose to share with them


5. AI-Generated Content

MedsWay includes AI-powered features including medication interaction checks, health insights, tips and tricks, and recovery mode plans. Important:

  • AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and is not medical advice

  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any health decisions

  • AI features are powered by a third-party AI provider. Prompts may be processed by that provider subject to their privacy terms

  • We do not store the full content of AI conversations on our servers


6. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We take your privacy seriously and implement appropriate technical safeguards.


However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security. By using MedsWay, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily entering personal health information and accept the inherent risks of digital storage.


If you upload documents such as lab results or vaccination records, you are responsible for reviewing what you upload. We recommend not uploading documents containing unnecessary identifying information.


7. Health Reports

MedsWay allows you to generate and export health reports (PDF, print, or email). These reports may contain sensitive personal health information. You are responsible for reviewing your report before sharing it with anyone. MedsWay is not responsible for information you choose to share outside of the app.


8. Subscriptions and Billing

MedsWay offers a free tier and a Premium subscription. Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). MedsWay does not process or store your payment information. For billing questions, cancellations, or refunds, contact Apple or Google directly.


9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data

  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

10. Children

MedsWay is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.


Child profiles within MedsWay are intended to be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.


11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will notify you through the app and update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of MedsWay after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
